Samme Newman, Counseling Intern

Licensed Mental Health Counselor Intern

Samme graduated with a Bachelors in Crisis Counseling from Liberty University and is currently working on her Masters in Mental Health Counseling through Liberty University and is a member of the American Counseling Association (ACA). She completed her bachelor’s degree internship working at Union Gospel Mission’s Women’s Recover at Anna Ogden Hall and continued as a high impact volunteer for three years to gain experience working with women in addiction who have diverse emotional, psychological, and trauma-related issue. Samme has over 20 years of volunteer experience working with adolescents and children through church ministries and mentoring programs.

Samme specializes in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Choice Theory, Person-Centered Theory, and Positive Therapy. She is increasing her experience in working with adults, adolescents, and children with a focus on trauma, addictions, anxiety, depression, and other psychological disorders. Samme respects and honors everyone’s diverse beliefs, spirituality, and the uniqueness of the client’s worldview. She has diverse life experience with her own joys, struggles, and traumas that have influenced her passion for helping others reach their psychological, emotional, and personal goals to encourage success through life’s challenges. Her goal is to help clients find their strengths and use those strengths to help them overcome the difficulties of life and the challenges that they may face while doing so. She places great importance on helping client’s find the tools to succeed and find peace in their world.

In Samme’s personal life she loves to travel, enjoy friends, and spend quality time with her husband and four children.
