Licensed Mental Health Care Associate
Martina has been working with children, teens, families, and couples in a variety of settings for over 20 years. Some of those settings include a crisis response facility for adults, an inpatient psychiatric treatment center for adolescents, non-profit organization serving homeless and runaway teens, and school and community-based substance use prevention programs. Most recently Martina has been working as a Family Therapist with parents and children involved with Division of Children, Youth and Families.
She received her Bachelor of Science in Applied Developmental Psychology from Eastern Washington University in 2001 and her Master of Education in School Counseling in 2018 and is a Licensed Mental Health Counseling Associate.
Her theoretical orientation is generally Person- Centered Therapy and relies on the principles of Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Strengths Based Techniques, Mindfulness, and Motivational Interviewing. Martina is also trained in the Evidence Based Programs; Positive Parenting Program and Family Functional Therapy and enjoys helping families work through conflict to create a calmer homelife. Areas of specialty include adolescent and child development, depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, ADHD, family dynamics and life changes.
In her free time, Martina enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, listening to music and being with her friends and family at the river. Martina is a mom of two human kids, two dogs, three cats, two ducks and five chickens.
