Annie graduated from the University of Idaho with a BS in Psychology and Whitworth University with a Master of Arts in Marriage and Family Therapy. She is a Licensed Marriage and family Therapist Associate. Annie offers a person-centered approach, where therapist and client develop a strong collaborative relationship and where sessions are tailored to each client’s unique needs. She integrates techniques from several counseling modalities including Attachment Theory, Emotionally Focused Therapy, Gottman Theory, Bowenian Family Therapy, Structural Family Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectal Behavioral Therapy, Play Therapy and Narrative Therapy.
Annie has experience working with individuals struggling with depression, self-harm, anxiety, PTSD, emotional regulation, trauma, grief, life transitions, abandonment, low self-worth, and Spiritual distress. She is also skilled in working with individuals, couples, or families where there is a history of childhood abuse or neglect that is impacting their current relationships.
Annie helps couples strengthen, deepen, and heal their marriage relationships. Her approach and training are centered in Emotionally Focused Therapy (Externship) and Gottman Theory (Level 1 and Level 2 Certified). Annie is certified in premarital counseling through Prepare Enrich and trained in Discernment Counseling for those couples or individuals early in their relationship or on the brink of breaking up.
Annie bases family counseling on helping families develop healthy boundaries, reduce stress and conflict, increase empathy, and improve interactions between family members.
Annie is a mother of three grown daughters. She enjoys learning new things, hiking, snowshoeing, biking, spending time at the lake and creating meaningful experiences with her family.
