Jill Walling

Jill Walling MA LMFTA

Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist

Jill earned her B.S. degree from Liberty University where she majored in Clinical Psychology with a minor in Christian Counseling. She then received her master’s degree for Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth University and is a member of the American Association for Marriage and Family Therapy (AAMFT). While attending Whitworth she worked with adolescents in the school setting as well as couples, families, and individuals at the Whitworth Counseling Center as part of her training and practicum. The focus of her training and education was in Christian counseling, couples counseling and family counseling. Jill also has experience working with adolescents struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma and low self-esteem.

Jill has participated in externships for Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy and Gottman Therapy. She uses an integrated approach in her counseling pulling from Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Person-Centered Therapy, Narrative Therapy, and Family Systems Therapy.

Beyond her training she has personal life experience that has fueled her with the desire to support others facing a variety of difficulties at different phases of their lives. Jill understands what it is like to need someone to come along side you not necessarily with all the answers, but to support and walk with you as you grow through often times difficult circumstances.

Jill believes that all individuals have the capacity to grow and change when equipped with hope, love and support. It is Jill’s goal to meet individuals, couples, and families where they are at and create an environment of hope that allows them to feel positive about themselves and discover true meaning.

When Jill isn’t working you can find her hanging out with her VERY large family, reading a book, or snuggling with her dogs. She enjoys watching almost all sports and spending time on the water during the summer.
