Gracie Klontz
Gracie Klontz
Licensed Mental Health Counselor Intern
Gracie firmly believes in the power of the counseling relationship, viewing it as a catalyst for individual insight, progressive change, and overall mental health wellness. She recognizes that therapy can feel intimidating and strives to create a collaborative, safe, and secure environment that encourages acceptance and understanding. Gracie will work to address presenting concerns and walk alongside her clients as they develop goals for improvement and change. She enjoys working with diverse populations and views people holistically, recognizing the influences of life experiences, culture, and belief systems on each individual. Gracie gladly welcomes children, adolescents, and adult clients.
Gracie has a Bachelor’s degree in Developmental Psychology from Eastern Washington University and is nearing completion of a Master’s degree in Clinical Counseling through the Townsend Institute, Concordia University Irvine. Gracie’s therapeutic approach comes from a place of genuine curiosity, believing the client is the expert on themselves. Gracie may use narrative therapy, psychodynamic, and other humanistic therapeutic approaches during counseling. Gracie also enjoys using neuroscience-based therapy, such as somatic experiencing, that assists with integrating the brain and the body. She also regularly integrates Dr. John Townsend’s Character Model, a research-informed psychodynamic approach to character diagnosis and treatment.
Gracie has experience working with troubled youth struggling with non-suicidal self-harm, suicidal ideation, PTSD, and attachment issues. She is also trained in RUBI, a research-informed modality for families with a child with autism spectrum disorder.
In her downtime, Gracie enjoys reading and spending time with her husband and four children. The mountains and the forest are her happy place, and she would gladly spend her time camping and experiencing the beauty of the Inland Northwest.
