Don is a graduate of the University of the Cumberlands with a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
Don’s counseling style is to assist his clients discover their own specific strengths and creative solutions that help to center their lives, leading to harmony, peace and personal fulfillment. He understands that we all need personal connection with others to make for joyful living and satisfying relationships that contributes to a rewarding life – because life is more than surviving alone, life is richer when shared with others. Don works with individuals of all backgrounds, experiences and ages and has a unique gift of empathic understanding as well as honoring and respecting each of his clients. He believes that each individual is entitled to unconditional positive regard and non-judgement. Don’s clients are safe to express themselves, supporting an environment to develop new meanings in life, greater awareness, and increased capacities.
Married for 30+ years, Don has life experiences in a multitude of varieties, from experiencing divorce at a young age, heartbreaking personal tragedies, raising LOTS of teens and caring for a disabled parent. These unique perspectives help him to understand the complex struggles of life many of us face as well as the heartaches of setbacks and the joys of triumph, in all the small and grand scales they arrive in.
Don was born and raised in Seattle before moving to Spokane with his wife and children. He is a father of 8 and grandfather of 11. Beyond his profession, his interests are hiking, photography, boating, humor, and being with his favorite people – family.
