Caleb received his Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Whitworth University, and completed his Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Whitworth in the Spring of 2021 and is a member of AAMFT. He integrates techniques from several counseling theories including Emotionally Focused Therapy, Bowenian Family Therapy, The Gottman Method, Experiential Family Therapy, Person-Centered Theory, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy. Caleb’s warm, gentle approach is rooted in genuine curiosity and empathy, recognizing that people feel safest in an environment where they are seen, heard and cared for. He works together with clients to collaboratively approach their problems, helping build self-acceptance and compassion.
He works with people that come with various concerns, including depression, anxiety, PTSD, trauma, relationship difficulties, self-harm, stress, family concerns and other various life changes. He has training in several relational therapy modalities including Externship and Core Skills of Emotionally Focused Therapy and Level 1 Gottman Couple’s Therapy, while integrating techniques from Bowenian Family Therapy and Experiential Family Therapy. He also integrates trauma-informed elements of Person-Centered Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and Narrative Therapy, and am consistently pursuing new therapy and ethical training opportunities. He takes an experiential approach to therapy, helping identify and process emotions and other sensations that arise in our relationships with others, ourselves and other systems in which we exist, creating space for compassion and the confidence it takes to move through another day.
Caleb works with people from all different backgrounds and identities, welcoming those from all communities including LGBTQ+ and other cultural backgrounds. It takes a lot of courage to even reach out for therapy – if you decide to take the leap, he looks forward to meeting you and hearing your story.
When Caleb is not in the office, he enjoys spending time with friends and family, playing tabletop and video games with friends, playing with his dog, and playing tennis, pickle ball or any number of other outdoor activities.
